Screenplays

Primus has won three national screenwriting awards. At only age 20, in 2015, he won the screenplay contest at the Broadcast Education Association Festival of Media Arts. The contest featured over 150 screenplay entries, many written by graduate students at acclaimed film schools such as the University of Southern California and New York University.

The winning submission, In the Dark, received a 96/100 score by judges, and was praised for its “professional” and “airtight” writing. Submitted as a 60-page original television series pilot, the story revolves around Thomas Blackman, a 35-year-old man living a double life. Following the award, Primus converted the show into a miniseries, and recently completed an 8-episode, 559-page script.

A year after In the Dark’s win, Primus again won at the festival for a short script titled Comic Noir. He was recognized in Las Vegas for the achievement, joining the rare list of those who have won twice at the festival.

Intertwined on the Coast was Primus’ next big win. This project, which Primus also directed, received Best Screenplay at the 2017 Aurora Awards in Orlando, Florida.

In addition to these projects, Primus has written two unproduced feature films and many spec scripts for some of his favorite shows including It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Better Call Saul.
