Award-winning filmmaker Brent Primus was born on February 13, 1994, in Visalia, CA. Shortly after, he and his family moved to Grand Rapids, MI, where Primus’ interest in film was developed. His intense knowledge of film history and film technique was mainly learned by watching thousands of films. His favorite directors include Paul Thomas Anderson, Terrence Malick, Wes Anderson, Stanley Kubrick, Martin Scorsese, and the Coen Brothers, among many more.
In 2012, Primus moved to Palm Beach, FL, to study Cinema-Television. Here, Primus’ talent was crafted and sculpted. At age 20 Primus won a national screenwriting award at the prestigious BEA Festival of Media Arts. The following year he received 2nd-place at the festival. Primus wrote and directed his senior thesis film, Intertwined on the Coast, which was released shortly after he received recognition in Las Vegas for his writing awards. The 17-minute short film added to his award collection by receiving Best Screenplay at the 2017 Aurora Awards in Orlando, FL. Primus was also nominated for Best Director.
Shortly before graduating film school in 2016, Primus’ first book, Here Are Some of My Thoughts, was published and became available in bookstores worldwide, including Barnes & Noble and Amazon.
Primus resides in Los Angeles while working in the film industry and writing books.
